Elias Lönnrot
Elias Lönnrot (1802 – 1884) was a Finnish physician, philologist and collector of traditional poetry. He is best known for compiling Kalevala, the Finnish national epic which was one of the inspirations for J.R.R. Tolkien's Silmarillion and Lord of the Rings.
